[1] Young researchers are researchers up to an age limit of 35 years at the time of the Conference. Allowances will be made for compulsory military or civil service  (actual time spent in military or civil service) and childcare (maximum 2 years per child for the actual time spent off work).

[2] Associate States are Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Lietchenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
